“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.”

Why be a Bully?

The Pit Bull is a breed everyone can recognize. News stories, social media posts, magazine articles.

Often these dogs are associated with words like ‘danger’, ‘unpredictable’, ‘vicious’, ‘violent’. When you see one walking down the street you may find yourself considering crossing to the other sidewalk.

Shelters are packed with pups labeled as a ‘Bully’ breed.

Undesirable, dejected, doomed

Originating in the U.K. and Ireland, the Pit Bull resulted from breeding a bulldog and terrier together. Bulldogs were bred to help manage herds of cattle while Terriers were bred for hunting small critters. Their personalities and physical attributes built a dog built for work.

Well-muscled, highly intelligent, wildly driven

Pit Bulls were groomed for bull-baiting. This violent sport required every bit of strength, focus, and perseverance. After its disbarment in 1853, Pitties transitioned into family dogs. They were cherished on farms as they would assist in everything from managing livestock to acting as a ‘nanny’ for young children. Their infamous reputation as the ‘All American’ dog maintained for years to come.

Only in recent years has their name been soiled by the actions of irresponsible owners and media sensationalism.

Here, we proudly wear a Pit Bull as our mascot. Against all odds, Pit Bulls persevere. We wear the image in hopes we may inherit some of their strength, loyalty, and acceptance.

Fitness should fit the person, not the person fit the gym
